Once owned by Sutro himself, Forest Hill sold to developers early in the 20th century. Besides taller trees and higher luxury cars, this regal neighborhood looks much as it did over a century ago.

Forest Hill is unlike the typical grid design seen throughout San Francisco's neighborhoods. The woody, twisting streets of Forest Hill obey its topography, unlike a T-square. Spacious havens rest on roomy SF lots, with sizable front gardens along with space to twirl in the backyard.
