Westwood Park was built to develop a suburban garden in the heart of the city. The homes found here are primarily bungalow-style houses showcasing the architectural styles of the early 1900s like Craftsmen, English Cottages and Spanish Revivals.

At the middle of the neighborhood, a racetrack-like street borders Ocean Avenue to the south. Unlike other affluent residential neighborhoods, Westwood Park has its own commercial strip along this end of Ocean Avenue, providing the hood with a variety of dining, shopping and retail.

Transportation is a breeze, with Balboa Park BART station nearby and easy access to Highway 280.
